Luke’s Senior Session

Back to blogging!  I have a lot of sessions to share, but I’ll just start with the current stuff and work my way back.  Senior season is in full swing.  Luke is a fellow Minnesotan, and he came all the way to Montana for his Senior Portrait Experience.  His parents are originally from Montana, and they come here every year to visit family.  Luke wanted something different for his portraits and chose to have his session done in the great state of Montana with our beautiful scenery.  We were worried about the rain, but you know Montana weather, just wait 20 minutes and it will change.  We got some great images at Reeder’s Alley and then we went out to the Missouri River to get the water and some of the smaller mountains in the background.  Here are a few of my favorites from Luke’s session.

Nina Senior Model Class of 2016

Nina is another one of my Senior Models this year.  She will be a senior at Helena High.  She is an awesome dancer with Premiere Dance Company in Helena.  Nina involved with student counsel, and when she is not dancing she enjoys backpacking and photography.

For all my senior models, I had LaRena Whitman from Teez style their hair and makeup for their model session.  She does a fabulous job! (give her a call for all your hair, nails, and make-up needs)  For Nina, she did a super cute retro 40’s hairstyle.  We even got a few shots of Nina posing like Rosie the Riveter.  Here are a few of my favorites from Nina’s session.

Having your hair and make-up done professionally before your session makes it so much easier for senior girls.  It’s one less thing to worry about, and it really makes your pictures stand out.  Plus it’s fun!  When scheduling your session with Stigman Photography, you can have your hair and makeup done before your session for an additional $60.
Nina has some cards with a coupon for $25 off your Senior Session Fee.  If you know her, just ask her for one, or you can mention you saw her pictures on the blog or facebook and you will get the same deal!

Nicole Class of 2016

Nicole is a Senior Model for Stigman Photography this year.  She will be in the graduating class of 2016 at Helena High.  She is a gymnast, involved in 4H, a part of the American welding society and will be joining the Army after High School.  Here are some of my favorite images from her modeling session.

I’m looking foward to her full Senior session this summer.  We have some fun things planned!  If you know Nicole, she has a card with a coupon for $25 off your senior session.  Just get one of those cards from Nicole or mention you saw her images on the blog or facebook and you get the same deal.

We have been in Helena, Montana for 9 months now, and I have loved every minute!  I love seeing the mountains every day.  I’ve enjoyed all the hikes we’ve taken, even the one where I got stung 4 times by yellow jackets or wasps.  The stinging part was not so fun, but getting to the top of the mountain to take in the view was.  The fishing trips, the camping trips, the sunsets, the sunrises, even winter, I enjoyed winter for the first time in a very long time!  I look forward to all the adventures we have planned and to really “Get Lost” in Montana as the tourism tag line says.  I think John Steinbeck’s quote pretty much sums up my feelings for Montana…“I’m in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect,
recognition, even some affection. But with Montana it is love. And it’s
difficult to analyze love when you’re in it.”

Here’s an image I took when we visited Glacier National park this winter.

My husband wanted to look at this every day, so he convinced me to order a 5 foot canvas print for our wall.

Here’s a panoramic image from Devil’s Elbow recreational area.

Can’t forget the sunrise

And another of my favorite images… Sam fishing this past fall in the Little Blackfoot river.

Happy Spring!

Spring has definitely sprung in Kentucky.  It’s a beautiful 81degrees in March!  It sure makes it hard to stay inside and work when it’s so beautiful outside.  I love this tree in the spring, it’s flowers are so pretty.  Unfortunately, it only blooms for a few days and the flowers wilt and fall off the tree.   We are all in such a hurry to do the next thing, we often don’t take the time to just enjoy the simple things in life and the beauty of nature.  Take some time today, even if it’s just 5 minutes, to step outside and enjoy spring.
